Timeless Petra

Sela for Training and Protection of Heritage is launching the Timeless Petra project to bring together heritage preservation, digital interpretation, and community engagement. The project focuses on enhancing the visitor experience through updated signage, QR-linked digital content, and scientific documentation of painted surfaces at three key sites.
Key Components:
-Enhancing interpretive experiences with new signage and interactive digital content.
-Scientific documentation and assessment of painted heritage at: The Palace Tomb The Painted Cave in Wadi Siyyagh The Painted Biclinium in Little Petra
-Developing new interpretative trails at Al-Wu’ayra Castle and Little Petra.
-Training and empowering local community members in documentation and conservation.
-Launching a digital trail showcasing local community stories through the Archaeotrail app.
This project represents a first step toward a long-term initiative to preserve Petra’s rich heritage and support sustainable tourism.
