Supported by the Drosos Foundation and implemented in collaboration with the Petra Development and Tourism Regional Authority (PDTRA), JASI’s objective is increasing employment of Jordanian jobseekers in the CRM sector through the establishment of a scalable model that combines capacity development, job creation, project implementation, community activities, and awareness raising by introducing a multidisciplinary training approach to form teams able to implement CRM projects from inception to completion. This project marked a new model of collaboration between the public and private sector through the launch of a parallel project “The Petra Maintenance Project”, supported by the PDTRA. This new model granted an active role to host communities in the management and conservation of the WHS of Petra.
