Sela develops structural projects that strengthen heritage management by placing communities at the center. Through initiatives that support training, regulation, and local capacity-building, we engage communities not only as beneficiaries but as active partners in decision-making and conservation practice. With projects such as Employment through Heritage (EHP), Jordanian Archaeology as a Sustainable Industry (JASI), and the Petra Maintenance Project, Sela has actively shaped heritage management in Jordan, building models of community engagement and sustainable conservation. By fostering collaboration between local groups, institutions, and professionals, these projects create lasting frameworks for heritage management, ensuring that preservation is rooted in community ownership and long-term responsibility.
