
Trained as an archaeologist at the University of Jordan before earning her MA and PhD from Newcastle University, Arwa focuses on community engagement and museum education.
Archaeologist and scholar of cultural heritage and museums, with a specialism in the Arab region. Born and raised in Jordan, Arwa is particularly interested in decolonisation theory and its link to human rights, as well as community heritage and how local knowledge and global tourism can contribute to sustainable heritage management. Her research also covers good practice in museum education and the use of heritage as a learning resource to complement school curricula.
