Naturalized Jordanian, Architect and archaeologist. Her career focuses on community engagement in heritage management.
Maria Elena Ronza is a naturalized Jordanian, who graduated in architecture from the “La Sapienza” in Rome and completed her Master degree in Archaeology at University of Jordan. She got her first introduction to the principles and practices of community archaeology with the Hisban Cultural Heritage Project. In 2010 she brought this experience to the TWLCRM project and since then to numerous other Jordanian and international archaeological and conservation projects, including several sponsored by the Department of Antiquities of Jordan. Her career focuses on sustainable tourism development of archaeological and heritage sites and on community engagement in heritage management.
